Sydney-based, self-taught multi-disciplinary artist Madison Davies draws inspiration from the complexities of the natural world, using both painting and photography to explore her own psyche and the intricacies she perceives around her. Her work reflects the internal landscapes she makes physical, influenced by her travels through Northern Africa. Following her time in southern Morocco, she returned to Sydney for her 2017 solo exhibition, "Raghba - The Inconsolable Longing," which explored the culture she experienced. Since then, she has been featured in shows and online publications, collaborating with The Fin Collection, Par Femme, Monster Children, and Will & Co, continuing to explore humanity's connection to the power of nature.
Artist Statement
My works reflect the intricate tapestry of nature and its profound reflection within our selves. Each piece serves as a portal, inviting viewers to traverse the timelines of their own consciousness and engage with the layers of spirituality that connect us all. Each artwork acts as a bridge between the tangible and the ethereal, a space where the natural world meets the spiritual realm. By reflecting on nature’s intricacies, we can uncover the deeper truths of our existence and the interconnectedness of all life. My intention is not just to depict our connection to nature, but to weave it into the very fabric of our souls, revealing the shared threads of humanity and the cosmos. A follow through concept present in all of my works - As above, So below, As within, so without.
